Pool-Jones swops roles

Richard Pool-Jones will take a sideways step at Stade Francais next season, moving from his post of sporting director back to that of vice-president of the board of directors, the Parisian club announced Wednesday.

The 43-year-old Englisman, a former back row forward for Stade Francais, had left his position as vice-president for that of sporting director in May 2012 after the dismissal of Australian coach Michael Cheika.

Christophe Laussucq and David Auradou will now take over the squad of the Top 14 outfit for the remainder of the season.

Stade Francais have struggled this year and currently sit 10th in the league, well out of contention for a spot in the end-of-season play-offs, an objective they'll miss out on for the fourth successive season.

Pool-Jones won one cap for England during his playing career, much of which was spent in France with Stade Francais (between 1997-2002).
