Ref's red card was the right call

Glasgow Warriors boss Gregor Townsend insists the officials made the right decision to red card Manoa Vosawai for a spear tackle on Alastair Kellock in the opening minutes of his side's 41-7 bonus point win over Treviso.

Glasgow fullback Stuart Hogg was the star of the show with two tries, while Tommy Seymour, DTH van der Merwe and replacement Nikola Matawalu also went over for the home side.

After the needless sixth minute dismissal of the Fijian flank, Glasgow dominated possession and territory and Townsend insists his men were well worth their Pro12 win.

"There is no doubt the red card helped us, but Treviso is a very good side," he said.

"Their position in the table is testament to that and they've got six wins already this season.

"We saw in the latter part of the first half and into the second 40 that they were willing to have a go and put pressure on our defence.

"But I'm very pleased we scored five tries and took the bonus point in the end, which was a big target for us as we went into the second half.

"We're on a good run at the moment, three wins in a row and that's something we can build on and take a lot of positives from."
