SARU names SA Schools coach
He takes over from Lance Sendin of Hugenote School in Wellington, who succeeded Hein Kriek in 2016 while Erasmus, who is no relation to Johan whose nickname is Rassie, was the SA Schools A coach in 2016 and Sendin's assistant in 2017.
Before migrating to the Cape, Erasmus became more and more involved in schoolboy coaching when an injury ended his playing career. He became the Glenwood first XV coach in 2007 and coached the Sharks Under-19 team.
In 2014 he started at Paarl Boys' High and ushered in that astonishing unbeaten run in 2015, 2016 and 2017. He also coached the highly successful Western Province Grant Khomo team in 2017.
He is due to leave Paarl Boys' High to take up a coaching post with the Golden Lions, starting on 1 November 2018.
The SA Schools side will be announced after the Craven Week, which ends on 14 July 2018. In August SA schools will play against France, Wales and England in a four-team tournament over eight days.
