Schools Top 20 - August 23

Grey College battled for a two-point win over Paul Roos in Stellenbosch. They won because they won the conversion battle 3-2. There was little to choose between the two sides.

Grey High of Port Elizabeth had what looks like a comfortable win over Selborne of East London, but the match was much closer than the score. The difference was that Grey used every half chance to score while Selborne was often close but seldom fulfilled.

SACS, who has been having an excellent season which has included victories over the big boys at Paarl Gim and Boland Landbou, are suddenly finding their Southern Suburb neighbours a handful. Rondebosch moves closer to the Top 20 with Bishops at home this Saturday.

In George, Outeniqua had a good win over Paarl Gim.

Down on the Border, Dale lifted their spirits with a close win over Hudson Park.

It's not always easy to shift people because of these who did not play – Monument, KES, Waterkloof, Affies, DHS, St Andrew's and Glenwood. But rather than punish them when we shift them, we are trying to reward those who have played well.
