Tigers snap up Perpignan pair

Leicester Tigers will welcome France international prop Jerome Schuster and scrumhalf David Melé from French club Perpignan in time for the new season.

Director of rugby Richard Cockerill has confirmed that the pair have agreed a move to Welford Road from the south of France and will arrive for the start of pre-season training in the summer.

Schuster, 27, has made more than 100 appearances in the Perpignan front row and has two senior international caps with France.

Melé, also 27, has been in the Perpignan first-team squad for the last seven years.

Both were members of the Perpignan squad that won the Top 14 league title in 2009.

Cockerill said: "Jerome and David are established top-flight players in France and they are both keen to come here to take on a fresh challenge in a new environment.

"They bring a lot of experience and add to the depth of the squad in key positions. We look forward to seeing them for the start of the pre-season programme."
