Welsh pair face hearings

Cardiff Blues scrumhalf Lloyd Williams and Newport Gwent Dragons lock Jevon Groves face possible suspensions after being sent off for spear tackles at the weekend.

The pair will appear at a disciplinary hearing in Dublin on Thursday. Williams was sent off for an alleged dangerous tackle on Montpellier scrumhalf Benoit Paillaugue during Sunday’s European Cup match at Cardiff Arms Park.

Groves saw red for the same alleged offense on Mogliano fullback Ezio Galon during the Challenge Cup match at Stadio Maurizio Quaggia on Saturday.

Jeremy Summers (England) has been appointed as the independent judicial officer.
