Player ratings: Jinx over

The Boks made sure they shut out the French side in another convincing performance.

The game started off slow and it looked as if the French would put up a fight but the brutality of the Boks' defence gave them no chance. A well-deserved victory for Allister Coetzee's men but all eyes will be on them in their next performances to see if they can continue with their winning form.

Jeremy Papier rates the Springboks!

15 Andries Coetzee

Good performance by Coetzee, excellent decision-making and good under the high ball.

7/10

14 Raymond Rhule

Not much time on the ball and struggled in the one-on-one tackles, however, he chased well

4/10

13 Jesse Kriel

Solid all round performance back from injury.

7/10

12 Jan Serfontein

Great game by Jan as he made a few crucial turnovers and was rock solid in the midfield with strong work on defence.

Only touched the ball a few times and did not offer much more.

4/10

10 Elton Jantjies

Solid game at pivot despite making a few small mistakes but overall, good decision-making and kicking.

A bit over eager at the start of the game and seemed rushed but as the game went along he started to find his rhythm.

Defensively good as he made a few big hits and worked hard on the ground.

An absolute workhorse and had another brilliant game, characterised with strong work on defence and solid in the line-outs.

6/10

2 Malcolm Marx

Yet another robust performance. Worked hard on defence and on the ground.

7/10

1 Tendai Mtawarira

Not much work from the Beast. He once again had little to no impact with ball in hand.

3/10

Replacements:

16 Bongi Mbonambi (On for Marx, 67th min)

Despite not playing long enough to be rated, he added to the winning performance by showing a good touch that led to a try.

17 Steven Kitshoff (On for Mtawarira, 55th min)

Excellent showing off the bench. Very busy when he came on and had a few touches that led to a try.

7/10

18 Coenie Oosthuizen (On for Dreyer, 55th min)

His solitary carry yielded no meters while he did the one thing everyone thought he would – concede a scrum penalty.

4/10

19 Pieter-Steph Du Toit (On for du Preez, 55th min)

Carried well and surprised a few by packing down at No.8, although he could have done better defensively.

5/10

20 Lodewyk de Jager (On for Mostert, 67th min)

Immediately made an impact when he came on with his strong defensive work, unfortunately, he was not on long enough to be rated.

21 Rudy Paige (on for Hougaard, 71st min)

Not enough time to be rated but must be congratulated for his first international try.

22 Frans Steyn (on for Jesse Kriel, 72nd min)

23 Dillyn Leyds (on for Rhule, 71st min)

Not enough time to be rated
