Gimmies win in the wet

In thew wet, muddy field at Paarl Gim on Saturday Paarl Gim retained their status as the top school in South Africa when they won Die Burger's Big Schools final for the third time.

They and Outeniqua have now won it three times each. Other schools have also won it three times – Paarl Boys' High twice and Paul Roos once.

Nico Malan just got home against Hermanus. Yet again Selvyn Davids was the difference.

Excelsior, with Dennis Cox at the helm, had a comfortable win over Langenhoven of Riversdale.
