Jim Fouche - JP van der Westhuizen

Jim Fouche captain JP van der Westhuizen is no stranger to the leadership role, having captained his age group from Grade Eight to Matric.

The hard-working No.8 will be hoping to get revenge on Sentraal in their FNB Classic Clash on Saturday, having been part of the team that was beaten on home turf last year.

He said that having the backing of his teammates is vital to his role as captain which he has performed for a number of years.

"The highlight of my school career was getting chosen by my teammates to lead them in Under-14, U15, U16 and now at first team level," he said.

It has been a good season so far for Jim Fouche, with just two narrow defeats against their name, and Van der Westhuizen is confident that they can cause some serious issues for Sentraal on Saturday.

"We have a great team spirit, loyalty and hard work in our team. As captain my role is to motivate the players by both my words and my deeds on the field," he explained.

Although he leads a relatively young side, the Jim Fouche captain is backing them to prove a pint this weekend.

"We have a fairly young team, but they play like they have far more experience. We have had some injuries but we are back to full strength this weekend.

"Sentraal are always tough opponents so we are expecting a hard game with nothing given either way. I have told the players that if we believe in ourselves then we can do it," he added.

Van der Westhuizen plans to study a BA at UFS next year and play for Shimlas, but right now his focus is solely on knocking Sentraal over this weekend.
