Profile: Juandre Du Plessis

The Wolmaransstad Hoerskool captain Juandre Du Plessis is feeling that his side are ready to take on Schoonspruit this weekend.

The captain who is a scrumhalf through and through will hope that he can guide his side to a win on the Klerksdorp derby.

"I have played scrumhalf my whole life, from Under-9.

"I started playing rugby in primary school and I played scrumhalf then and still play scrumhalf now," Du Plessis added.

Du Plessis is playing in his second season of 1st XV rugby and his experience could prove to be incredibly useful for the side from Klerksdorp.

"This is the second year that I have played in the 1st XV," the captain said.

He has played some provincial rugby which will help his side.

"In under-16 I played in the Leopards Country Districts side," he mentioned.

Du Plessis's Wolmaransstad beat Schoonspruit in this fixture last season and they will want to do the double over their rivals.

"We beat Schoonspruit last year so we are ready for this weekend.

"We have worked incredibly hard this week and although we have a few injuries we are feeling confident ahead of the game this weekend.

"Our preparation has been good so that will hopefully help us," Du Plessis concluded.
