Treverton captain - Kalipha Ngwenya

Treverton captain Kalipha Ngwenya will be eyeing revenge when he leads his team out to face local rivals Weston in their FNB Classic Clash on Wednesday.

The hard-running outside centre has played for the first team at Treverton since he was in Grade 10, and he remembers the 64-13 hiding they got at home against Weston last year so he will be looking to return the favour.

Despite that big defeat and some mixed results this year, Ngwenya is confident that his team can upset Weston on home turf.

"Weston had a convincing win over Treverton last year but our team is now focused and up for the task at hand.

"It has been a slow start to the season, with flashes of brilliance here and there, but to this point we have not had consistency," he said.

Ngwenya added that it is a privilege to be named captain of his school.

"I am honoured that this team has put so much trust in me, allowing me to lead them through the season," he said.

Although Treverton have a fairly experienced players, No.8 Donald Paterson and scrumhalf Timothy Blaker are both currently sidelined through injury, which will make their task even tougher.

Ngwenya, who plans to study Accountancy, knows that whatever happens it will be a tough and physical encounter between the two sides.

"I am expecting a very physical game and a close competitive game between the two sides," he said.
