WP win U19 Final

Western Province beat the Blue Bulls 22-18 in the Final to take the Under-19 Cup for 2012.

The match was moved from KINGS PARK Stadium to the B Field because of the wet produced by the heavy rains.

Western Province led 10-3 at half-time but scored the winning try with just five minutes to go. They scored three tries to the Blue Bulls' two.

Early on Tommaso Allan of Western Province and then Jacques Rossouw scored penalty goals. They also each missed a penalty attempt but then, after 20 minutes, Justin Geduld scored a try which was converted.

At the start of the second half centre Burger Odendaal scored for the Blue Bulls. 10-8.

Five minutes later Werner Kok got a try for Western Province. 15-8.

Then the Blue Bulls took over, first through a penalty by substitute Jan Enslin and then a try by Jan Serfontein, a surprise inclusion as he had not been included in the Under-20 side because of injury. Enslin converted.  That put the Blue Bulls into an 18-15 lead.

With six minutes to play Justin Geduld scored the try which restored the lead, enhanced beyond a penalty by Allan's conversion. 22-18, which was the final score.
