Captaincy blow for Bulls

Botha is one of two major casualties from the Bulls' impressive 31-17 win over the Lions last Friday.

Bulls team doctor Herman Rossouw confirmed that the Springbok back row forward dislocated his shoulder in the Loftus Versfeld showdown.

"He went for a scan this [Monday] morning and is unable to train again this week and play on the weekend," Rossouw said.

The second big setback is fullback Duncan Matthews, who sustained an injury to his knee.

"He is suspected to be out of action for about four weeks," the team doctor said.

Midfielder Burger Odendaal's shoulder injury does not appear to be as serious as first thought.

However, he may be rested from the trip to Nelspruit.

Jannes Kirsten is making good recovery from his shoulder injury and a decision is to be made on his availability later this week.

Rossouw believes the best scenario is for Kirsten to return next week.

Jason Jenkins is also making a speedy recovery.
