Golden Lions lose another top prop

Prop Corné Fourie sustained a fractured wrist in his side's narrow 29-28 win over the Pumas last weekend.

The 29-year-old does not need surgery, but he is expected to be out of action for at least six weeks.

The Lions will also be without prop Ruan Dreyer for the next few weeks after he linked up with the Springbok squad in Perth to prepare for the upcoming Rugby Championship match against the Wallabies.

Dreyer was involved in the Lions' victory over the Pumas before he departed for Australia.

The Golden Lions are still without prop Dylan Smith, who picked up a shoulder injury in Super Rugby in March.

The Johannesburg side are currently sitting at the bottom of the Currie Cup standings after two wins and five losses.

They next face Griquas in Kimberly on Friday.
