Jones eyeing 'perfect ending' with Province
The 23-year-old Scottish star will be joining Glasgow Warriors after this year's Currie Cup and he would like to leave on a happy note after four seasons with Province and the Stormers.
Jones, who missed this year's entire Super Rugby season after getting injured while playing for Scotland in the Six Nations, has been a key cog in John Dobson's side and Saturday's semifinal against the Golden Lions could be his last match at Newlands.
"I've never really got emotional in a game, so I don't think that is a worry for me [on Saturday]," said Jones. "Obviously it is quite a nice occasion, it is possibly my last game at Newlands because the other semifinal is out of our hands. I’m looking forward to it and it should be an enjoyable game.
He added: "It is always disappointing to get injured. I already knew it was going to be my last season and I was very disappointed to miss out on the whole of Super Rugby.
"I sort of had the hopes of it being my year, hopefully, to kick on with Super Rugby, but I obviously didn't get that opportunity, so I have tried to make the most of this Currie Cup.
"If we can go on and win it that would be the perfect ending."
Jones knows exactly what he will miss most when he is in Scotland.
"I will say maybe playing at Newlands. There are not many places like it. There is definitely no other place like it in South Africa.
"It has the best atmosphere, even though it is not always full.
"I love this team, I love this Union and I've love playing here.
"Just the atmosphere when we go forward and someone makes a break, that lifts you so much. I will miss that quite a lot," said Jones.
Meanwhile, Jones will face a tough task in the midfield over the weekend when he goes up against the Lions' duo of Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Harold Vorster.
"They are two good players. They are two big physical ball carriers.
"They like to come hard, but playing against them a few times we know how to deal with them.
"We know the threats that they will bring, so I think it is all about who turns up on the day and how we deal with each other I suppose. It is quite a nice battle to have in midfield," said Jones.
