Sharks eager to be that next-level team

The Sharks currently top the standings after winning their last seven matches since their opening round defeat to the Free State Cheetahs.

Du Preez's side will face a tricky challenge against Griquas in Kimberley this weekend before they enjoy three home matches against the Blue Bulls, Golden Lions and Western Province in the run in to the play-offs.

"It is one game at a time, I've always said that and not think too far ahead," said du Preez.

"This game [against Griquas] is really important to take our game to the next level. Our performance, while we got the [27-25] win in the end against the Pumas, it is not good enough for this team.

"This team is capable of a lot better and we should be going to the next level now."

Du Preez knows that his side has a tough challenge ahead of them in Kimberley.

"We are playing in Kimberley now which is a tough environment.

"They [Griquas] like to throw the ball around and they are not scared to have a go, but we are going to be concentrating on our game and that’s to have a really good performance.

"That's what we need, especially with going into the last three games at home, which is all going to be tough sides to play against," the coach added.
