Sharks quartet off to Japan

Many of the players named have represented the Sharks in Super Rugby this year.  Amongst the new faces in the squad are new signings Cameron Wright, Louis Schreuder, Ross Geldenhuys and Tyler Paul.

Mzamo Majola, who was on-loan to the Kings during this year's Super Rugby also makes a welcome return to the squad.

Notable exclusions from the Currie Cup squad are Andre Esterhuizen (Sanix), Lwazi Mvovo (Canon Eagles), Philip van der Walt (Canon Eagles) and Stephan Lewies (Kamaishi Seawaves), all of whom will be playing in Japan during the Currie Cup season.  

They will return to Durban in January 2018 in time for next year's Super Rugby competition.

Three other players that were ineligible for inclusion are contracted Springboks Tendai Mtawarira and Coenraad Oosthuizen and the injured Patrick Lambie.

"There is a great mixture of youth and experience in this squad, and everyone is keen to make their mark and contribute when called upon," said du Preez.
