Rennie seeks to regain luck against Kings
Glasgow Warriors failed to secure a point form their two opening matches in the European Champions Cup and their recent 18-34 defeat to Leinster just add pressure to head coach Dave Rennie's reign at the Scotland side.
Glasgow's mission to book a quarter-final spot does not get any easier. The Scottish side next Championship match is against the Premiership side Exeter Chiefs, which is followed by the French giants Montpellier.
Rennie, however, is refusing to look too far ahead, insisting the focus is squarely on the Pro14 fixture against Southern Kings this Friday.
It seems the coach handles the Pro14 pressure much better as the side are currently topping Pool A in the PRo14.
He said: "We knew the [Champions Cup] pool would be tough. We knew we’d have to start well, and we’ve got nothing from two games.
"Our attention goes back to the PRO14 now, so we’ll assess where we are in December before Montpellier.
"We’ve got a lot of guys who will be away playing international footy and a lot will depend on our injury ward, which after today is pretty large. We’ll turn our attention to the Kings now though,"
One positive for the Warrior Nation to take from the defeat was the return of Stuart Hogg, with the fullback scoring one try and providing the scoring pass for Tommy Seymour. With Rennie’s side looking to attack at every opportunity, the Glasgow head coach admitted it was good to see him back in action.
"We probably tried to give him too much ball without drawing the man, but it’s great to have him back," said Rennie.
"We certainly want to play a really fast game against the Kings, and with only having to wait six days for a shot at redemption after today, we’re looking forward to it,"
