Cane not underestimating wounded Boks

Cane, along with Sam Whitelock, Liam Squire, Ryan Crotty and Lima Sopoaga,  arrived in Cape Town a week earlier of their final Rugby Championship match against the Springboks at Newlands.

The flank explained that the Springboks' Rugby Championship results  – two draws with the Wallabies and a 0-57 defeat to the All Blacks – is not a fair reflection of the Springboks' capability.

According to Cane the lost of iconic players in the last few years and the aftermath of the Albany Test make the Springboks eager to get themselves on the right track.

"They've established a new leadership group, a lot of new guys in the squad, and a lot of youth so they feel like they're building to something bigger in the coming years. Cane told reporters at the hotel.

"The scoreboard of their last three games is not a fair reflection of the feeling within that squad," he said.

This is Cane's fifth time in Cape Town in the last two years and the 25-year-old admitted that the rivalry between the two countries does add extra pressure not to rest on their laurels.

"We know we have to be right on our game to get the result we want.

"I think, if we're not it could be a real arm wrestle," he said.
