Cup quarterfinals:

South Africa 22-0 Scotland

The BlitzBoks put in another clinical performance to beat Scotland and advance to the Cup semifinals.

Justin Geduld did all the scoring in the first half with two tries and one conversion, which gave the BlitzBoks a 12-0 lead at the break.

The South Africans scored another two tries in the second half via Seabelo Senatla and Cecil Africa to eventually win 22-0.

Australia blew Kenya away to reach the Cup semifinals.

The game was basically over by half-time after Australia scored five unanswered tries to lead 33-0 at the break.

Kenya looked better in the second half and they scored two tries, but it was Australia who walked away with the spoils with a 33-12 win.

New Zealand 19-12 England

Hosts New Zealand and powerhouse England played out a thriller in the second Cup quarterfinal.

New Zealand opened the scoring before England hit back with a score moments later. NZ had the final say in the half with another try to go into the break 12-7 ahead.

England levelled matters with an early score in the second half, but a late try gave New Zealand the 19-12 win in the end.

Fiji 12-10 Samoa

It was another close battle between these two Pacific Island giants.

Both sides scored a try in the first half, but it was Fiji with a slender 7-5 lead due to a missed conversion from Samoa.

That missed conversion would prove costly in the end with Fiji eventually winning by a two-point margin after both sides scored a try each again in the second half. Fiji won 12-10

Challenge Trophy quarterfinals:

Papua New Guinea 35-0 France

France were totally embarrassed in their clash against Papua New Guinea.

PNG took a surprising 14-0 lead into the break after two converted tries and things just got worse for the French in the second half.

Papua New Guinea scored another three unanswered tries in the second half to walk away with a comfortable 35-0 victory

USA 29-12 Spain

The USA opened the scoring in their match against Spain, but the Europeans hit back with a try themselves to lead.

However, it was the Americans who took a 12-7 lead into the break with a try just before half-time.

The USA looked much stronger in the second half and they outscored their opponents by three tries to one to seal a 29-12 victory.

Argentina 21-12 Russia

Russia surprised everyone by taking the lead in the second minute, but their celebrations did not last long.

Argentina showed their class in the latter stages of the first half by scoring two tries to lead 14-7 at half-time.

Both sides crossed the whitewash once in the second half with Argentina eventually winning 21-12.

Wales 14-19 Canada

There was nothing to choose between the two teams in the first half with both sides scoring a converted try to go into the break at 7-7.

Wales were the first to score in the second half, but Canada finished the stronger of the two sides with another two tries to eventually win 19-14.
