The announcement has capped off a monumental year for Goddard who made his Super Rugby debut against the Waratahs on May 21 and become Rebel at 19-years-old.

Goddard’s classy form with the Melbourne Rebels in the Super U20 competition as Vice Captain ensured his selection in the national team to compete in the World Rugby U20 Championships in Georgia.

Goddard has impressed for Australia in Georgia with 39 points off the boot and solid performances against Wales, Samoa England and Italy as starting halfback alongside fellow Rebels teammates Jordan Uelese, Sione Tuipulotu, Semisi Tupou and future Rebel Henry Huchison.

Fast earning a reputation for his speed to the breakdown, accurate passing game and pinpoint kicking game the former Australian Schoolboy (2014 & 2015) is earmarked as a player with a huge Super Rugby future.

"Harrison’s development has been fast tracked in our environment and he has earned the opportunity by working extremely hard, backing himself and his growth mindset to improve." said Baden Stephenson Melbourne Rebels CEO

It's taken just eight months for the now passionate Melbourne man to become a key acquisition for the Melbourne Rebels.

"It's been a very enjoyable year so far, joining preseason with the Rebels then my Super Rugby debut to now representing my Country," said Goddard.

"The Rebels gave me my chance and since then I haven’t looked back, I'm grateful for where I am now and how much I’ve enjoyed playing footy in this environment.

"Melbourne is such a great city, with a powerful sporting scene, and I’m excited for the chance to contribute to the future success of the club,"

Goddard’s signing is the third in a series of recent announcements by the Melbourne Rebels who are surging forward with planning and recruitment for the 2018 campaign.

The Melbourne Rebels return to action on Friday, July 7 against the Western Force at nib Stadium in Perth following June’s international Test break.
