Du Preez: Our discipline let us down

The Durban-based side only had 34 percent of the ball in the 26-28 loss to the Reds. Robert du Preez's side also conceded a number of penalties, which proved costly in the end.

"We had very little possession in the match and with us conceding 11 penalties, our discipline let us down," Du Preez told sharksrugby.co.za.

"A lack of possession and ill-discipline made it difficult for us on the night [Friday]."

He added: "On a positive note when we did keep ball in hand we looked dangerous at times. Our defence was also good. There were individual errors that cost us."

The Sharks' next match against the Brumbies will be their last on a short Australian tour before they head back to Durban.

"Our focus is now on the Brumbies," said Du Preez. "We will work hard this week to fix our errors and we are looking forward to the match on Saturday."
