"We can't wait for #OurSharks first game in Hong Kong as we take on Racing 92 at the Aberdeen Sports Ground on 3 February!" the Durban-based franchise said in a statement on social media.

The Sharks will use the outing as a Super Rugby warm-up.

It is not sure if Racing will be able to field a full-strength team – given their domestic and European commitments, as well as their contribution to the French national team for the Six Nations.

However, Lambie's presence in the Racing team will be a major drawcard.

He will face the Sharks for the first time since moving to Racing earlier this year – following almost a full year on the sidelines with two consecutive bouts of concussion and other injury setbacks.

The 27-year-old Lambie played more than 100 games for the Sharks – 70-odd in Super Rugby.

The Aberdeen Sports Ground has a capacity of 9,000 and is the home of Hong Kong Premier League club Southern.

The franchise also revealed a number of significant signings on their social media.
