Reds suffer big blow

According to Rugby.com.au, Presese partially tore the ACL in his right knee which will put him out of action for six weeks.

The wing sustained injury late in Reds' Super pre-season clash with Fiji Warriors last Thursday.

The best case scenario for his return is around eight clash with the Brumbies – the same match George Smith is targeting as he recovers from a back injury.

Perese will miss the side's tour to Argentina and South Africa.

His absence will be keenly felt. However, coach Brad Thorn will be taking every precaution with Perese's rehab, to ensure he returns at 100 percent.

Filipo Daugunu would be the leading candidate to fill the hole left by Perese on the left wing against the Rebels, with Eto Nabuli still nursing a wrist injury.

Lachlan Maranta could also be a possible replacement.
