Sonny Bill to get special Blues jersey

According to stuff.co.nz, a statement is being prepared by New Zealand Rugby, the Blues and the two sponsors which will have no issue with Williams' objection to wearing bank logos on his jersey.

Williams made headlines after he taped over a bank's logo around the collar on his jersey in his Blues' Super Rugby debut against the Highlanders in Dunedin last weekend.

"In regards to my jersey during the game I'll clarify the situation during the week," Williams tweeted after the match.

While his team were unaware he would tape over the logo, Williams' management is confident the clause was included in his New Zealand Rugby contract.

The bank also said they did not a problem with Williams covering up their logo during the match.
